DIRECT REPORT (JOB TITLE)

Retail Investment Manager / Branch Manager 

 

Overall Purpose of the Position 

To provide information on investment and insurance products through the use of a white list containing mutual funds and insurance products, for clients with an investment portfolio of up to €50,000.

 Operational Responsibilities 

  • To ensure that regulatory and compliance obligations are met with the assigned clients and their respective investment portfolio.
  • To identify prospects and the best way to contact these customers.
  • To promote and sell investment and insurance products and services.
  • To ensure that the required regulatory forms and related documents are filed and forwarded in a timely manner and in accordance with the Bank’s procedure.
  • To engage in customer acquisition initiatives to attract new clients to the Investment services of the bank.
  • To assure customer satisfaction by establishing a good rapport and ongoing after sales service, and further business opportunities, actively seeking opportunities for networking.
  • To keep up to date customers’ records on file.
  • To keep updated on the Banks’ products and services and look for opportunities to cross sell.
  • To sit on committees and attend meetings when required and to take minutes accordingly.
  • To inform branch colleagues about new investment and insurance products and provide management with up to date statistics on sales figures and leads generated on a regular basis.
  • To identify prospects for transactions with limits which exceed their authorised limits and forward the leads to Investment Advisors and/or Private Client Advisors as applicable.
  • To comply with compliance requirements.

 

General Responsibilities

  • To submit any reports and/or particiapte in any projects and activities as may be directed from time to time.
  • To ensure compliance with Bank’s policies, guidelines and underlying procedures at all times.
  • To assist his/her superior in the preparation of the unit’s business plan and underlying budgets if requested.
  • To perform standard office tasks including processing mail, answering phone calls, ordering supplies and filing.
  • To perform any other duties that may be reasonably assigned from time to time.

 

Qualifications, Skills & Competencies 

Mandatory

 Skill

  • Is able to work on his own with minimum guidance, and with a strong sense of prioritisation.
  • Possesses a strong focus on quality of service and client relationships.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong client relationships.
  • Be computer literate and conversant in MS Office applications.

 Experience

  • Conversant with the Investments Regulatory environment.
  • Have an understanding of how the investment market works.

 Qualification

  • Prepared to achieve an MFSA approved qualification for the provision of investment advice.

 

 Desirable

 Skill

  • Strong presentation skills.

 Experience

  • Keen follower of investment markets.
  • Some experience in an investments/ insurance sales environment.

Qualification

  • Prepared to undertake further studies in compliance, specifically the investment field.
