Overall Purpose of the Position 

  • Technology Department is seeking candidates for the post of Senior Business/System Analyst.  The purpose of this role is to analyse, design and define technological solutions and system changes.
  • The Senior Business/System Analyst will be responsible for providing direction and guidance to ongoing projects by analysing business requirements and recommending the most appropriate technical solution.
  • The Senior Business/System Analyst is expected to work closely with Suppliers/Developers and be able to understand the technical concept of things while be able to translate these to the end-user community.

 

Operational Responsibilities 

  • Analyse business and system requirements for gaps and dependencies. Research and analyse all aspects of existing business practices and procedures through data gathering and meetings with stakeholders.
  • Translate business requirements into functional specifications, conduct impact analysis of changes, assess feasibility, and create effective technical documentation to help facilitate the understanding of such technical requirements.
  • Carry out deployments on test environments, follow up testing with Quality Assurance, assist with issues encountered and prepare the Change Management Release Form (CMRF) for the Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings.
  • Conduct Supplier Management and keep track of priorities agreed upon with the Scrum Coordinators/Business System Owners.
  • Form part of a multi-skilled Scrum team working on various tasks to support the team’s objectives towards the attainment of the Bank’s digital transformation.
  • Liaise with both Solutions and Enterprise Architects to device functionality in line with the Bank’s application architecture.
  • Perform assigned tasks in an efficient and effective manner and within the agreed timelines and quality

 

General Responsibilities

  • To build relationships and liaise with various stakeholders across the business to ensure cohesion and drive a collaborative work environment.
  • To submit any reports and/or supervise any projects and activities as may be directed from time to time.
  • To support the Scrum Leader and participate in the definition of an IT Governance framework and compliance, when needed.
  • To perform any duties that may be assigned to him/her from line management from time to time.
  • Keeps abreast of new and emerging technologies and propose any relevant technical training for the System Analysist team.

Qualifications, Skills & Competencies 

Mandatory

 Skill

  • Knowledge of Information Systems Analysis and Software Development.
  • Good communication skills (including written and verbal) - able to relate to various members of the organisation.
  • Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Customer Driven with an ability to prioritise issues based on impact.
  • Excellent critical analysis and creative skills.

Experience

  • Three years of experience in areas of Business/System Analysis or a similar role.
  • Experience of working under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Background in application development and requirements solicitation.

 Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or other related field.

  • Enthusiasm for research, problem solving and learning new skills.
  • Good presentation skills.
  • Ability to tackle simultaneous tasks.
  • Understanding the concept of CI/CD practices.

Experience

  • Experience in Software Development including programming languages, such as, C#, JavaScript and/or Python.
  • Experience in Database Querying with PL/SQL and T-SQL.
  • Experience in using CI/CD pipelines and tools.

  Qualification

  • Certified Analytics Professional (CAP)
