Senior Credit Operations Officer

 

Overall Purpose of the Position 

To perform a variety of back-office administrative tasks related to the Lending Portfolio of the Bank.  This incorporates the handling of Collaterals, vetting / inputting of lending information/documentation and loan drawdowns on the systems of the Bank. 

 

Operational Responsibilities

  • To effectively manage the collateral and other lending documentation taken in support of the Bank’s lending portfolio in a timely manner.
  • To follow the comprehensive checklists for sanction letters ensuring that all terms and conditions are adhered to and all information and documentation are provided and recorded in the Bank’s systems prior to opening credit facilities, marking limits and effecting loan drawdowns.
  • To support the Unit in the Loan Drawdown process.
  • To update the records and status in the Bank’s system (LPS and ICBS) as required.
  • To respond to queries from Branches and Commercial Business Units and investigate issues raised and escalating to next reporting line where appropriate.
  • To liaise with other supporting units and branches for the collection of the necessary information of facilities due for annual review.
  • To carry out advances reviews according to the defined policies, guidelines and procedure and prioritise reviews to be undertaken and follow-up on any pending action resulting from such reviews with both internal and external sources.
  • To update in collaboration with the Senior Credit Operations Officer the Risk Register of Operations Division with the medium-to-high operational risks originating within the Credit Operations function suggesting control measures to mitigate such risks to a lower level.
  • To identify ways to improve efficiency of the Unit by challenging existing processes and procedures and make recommendations for consideration to Senior Officer (Credit Operations).
  • To take the necessary action with regards to other advances-related tasks that will be subject to centralisation.
  • To be knowledgeable and conversant with the Bank’s Policy, guidelines, Handbook, Procedure Manual, products, website and internet in case of any queries.
  • To perform in line with KPIs and SLAs and make recommendations how these can be improved.

  

General Responsibilities 

  • To perform standard back-office tasks related to Credit including processing mail, emails, calls, actioning of reports and filing.
  • To submit any reports and/or participate in any projects and activities as may be directed from time to time.
  • To ensure compliance with Bank’s policies, guidelines and underlying procedures at all times.
  • To perform any other duties that may be reasonably assigned from time to time.
  • To ensure a high quality / standard of work and service throughout.
