Lead Automation & Release Engineer

 

Overall Purpose of the Position 

Due to the Bank’s growth, we are looking to strengthen our automation function with a Senior Automation Developer to join our dynamic DevOps team. This role focuses on the development and maintenance of automated processes throughout the Bank’s functions ensuring operational efficiency.

This includes the development and management of new processes implementations, ongoing monitoring, optimisation of already implemented workflows, and reporting progress to stakeholders

Operational Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the design, establishment and execution of Robotic Process Automation (RPA) capabilities.
  • Design, develop and deploy E2E automated processes using the right technology stack within the Bank’s automation framework.
  • Drive the automation program and work with stakeholders across the organisation to solve business pain points and enhance customer experience by leveraging automated solutions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and other cross-functional teams to define and deliver business impacting outcomes.
  • Follow existing best practices and adhere to development techniques and guidelines, while keeping abreast with the latest technologies and industry practices.
  • Update team documentation, including playbooks and operational guides, and lessons learned from incident resolution

General Responsibilities

  • To support the Team Lead in setting the short and long-term strategy for the team and drive the delivery of that strategy against a set of time bound goals and deliverables.
  • To take ownership of the day-to-day management of the team(s) under his/her remit assuring business continuity and proper execution of automated processes.
  • Participate in on-call rotations for production support (for which separate renumeration will be provided).
  • To build relationships and liaise with various stakeholders across the business to ensure cohesion and drive a collaborative work environment.
  • To perform any duties that may be assigned from time to time.
  • The candidate must also be available to travel whenever needed to attend training/conferences or manage supplier relationships.

Qualifications, Skills & Competencies 

Mandatory

 Skill

  • Knowledge of object-oriented programming concepts to support automation frameworks.
  • Understanding of RESTful APIs and their use in connecting systems and automation workflows.
  • Have excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Be familiar with development environments while adopting an agile mindset.
  • Be willing to learn and adapt to work with several leading Intelligent Automation tools to automate processes.
  • Be customer driven, able to handle multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
  • Proactively take initiative and be confident in accepting new challenges and responsibilities.
  • Ability to challenge the status quo and inspire others to identify opportunities and areas for improvement.

 

Experience

  • Hands-on development experience using modern programming languages and low-code/no-code automation technologies.
  • Strong understanding and use of SQL databases.

 Qualification

     Possesses Masters/Degree/Diploma in IT, Computer Science or in a related field.

     Knowledge on ITIL based/ITSM platforms.

             

 Desirable

 Skill

     Possess Banking and/or Fintech business knowledge.

Experience

  • Hands on experience developing and maintaining process automations using Blue Prism and/or Microsoft Power Platform such as PowerAutomate.
  • Experience on Software Testing Automation activities.
  • Familiarity with GenAI, ML, NLP), and other AI-driven workflow tools, or frameworks.

  Qualification

  • Possess the BluePrism developer certification.
