Parameterisation Engineer |
Overall Purpose of the Position
To analyse requirements and implement system parameters and configurations to make business solutions flexible as much as possible and to leverage the system capabilities to deliver the changes required by the business without the need of system customisations.
Operational Responsibilities
- To support the Parameterisation Engineer and/or Senior DevOps Engineer in ensuring that all tasks assigned to the Development (DevOps) team members are carried out efficiently and effectively and that all internal policies and procedures are adhered to.
- To perform periodic system reviews to identify possible improvements that can be done through existing system parameters.
- To assist the Parameterisation Engineer and/or Senior DevOps Engineer in designing and implementing process improvements and procedures for the team under his/her remit.
- To develop changes that can be easily packaged and redeployed from one environment to the other.
- To utilise automation as much as possible to work efficiently and consider reusability while creating automated scripts, package updates on system parameters.
- To perform the necessary analysis and impact assessment before performing any proposed changes in parameters.
General Responsibilities
- To build relationships and liaise with various stakeholders across the business to ensure cohesion and drive a collaborative work environment.
- To constantly uncover ways on how to streamline and automate work related to parameterisation/configuration making use of development tools.
- To support the DevOps Team during prioritisation of projects and IT initiatives.
- To perform any duties that may be assigned to him/her from line management from time to time.
- Keeps abreast of new and emerging technologies and suggest recommendations for improvement.
Qualifications, Skills & Competencies
Mandatory
Skill
- Able to use common scripting languages such as SQL and PowerShell.
- Customer Driven with an ability to prioritise issues based on impact.
- Good communication skills (including written and verbal) - able to relate to various members of the organisation.
- Proficient in languages like Python, C++ or .Net.
- Able to break down complex systems into manageable components
- Creative thinking for developing novel parameterization approaches.
Experience
- Three years of experience in IT with hands on experience related to scripting and system configuration.
- Experience of working under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Good sound knowledge of software development.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or other related field.
Desirable

- Enthusiasm for research, problem solving and learning new skills.
- Good presentation skills.
- Ability to tackle simultaneous tasks.
- Understanding the concept of CI/CD practices.
Experience
- Experience in data engineering.
- Experience in using CI/CD pipelines and tools.
