Job Description

Overall Purpose of the Position 

Responsible for the syndicated loan business of the Bank, to recommend credit proposals for approval and be responsible for all general functions related to the syndicated loan book

Operational Responsibilities 

• To evaluate loan proposals from counterparties in the primary and secondary markets.
• To review existing loans.
• To review financial statements and reports and recommend proposals for approval. 
• To keep abreast with developments in the syndicated loan markets and the regulatory landscape. 
• To develop trade ideas and market analysis for the Bank’s syndicated loan book

General Responsibilities

• To implement and monitor performance measurement systems and other techniques benchmarking the Unit performance.
• To assist in the preparation of the Unit’s business plan and underlying budgets. This includes the preparation of action plans and reports as may be instructed from time to time.
• To appraise the performance of their team and ensure that the assessments are carried out on time.

• To submit any reports and/or manage any projects and activities as may be instructed from time to time.
• To perform any other duties that may be reasonably assigned from time to time.

Qualifications, Skills & Competencies 

Mandatory

 Skill

• Possess excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Possess a high degree of numeracy.
• Able to work both independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.

Experience

•  Proven experience in loan syndication or Fixed Income or financial statement analysis.

 Qualification

•  University degree or professional qualification in Banking, Finance, Accountancy Economics or Mathematics or proven experience of expertise in this business area.

 Desirable

 Skill

• Conversant with MS Excel and Bloomberg.

 Experience

• Knowledge of International Business and Financial Ratio Analysis.
